Northern Winter

Up-north, it’s still roughly 15 to 23 degrees Fahrenheit every day. When I have a night out planned there is always a struggle to choose what to wear in these temperatures. I want to look sexy and show off a bit of skin, but on the other hand, I do not want to freeze to death. Nevertheless, I refuse to let the cold, and the convenience of comfort steal my fashion sense. Admittedly, I do have to increase my creativity level more during the winter months. Yet, winter allows an elevation of fashion for dressing up in the most loved boots, knits, skirts and elegant black Zara coats. Inspired by frozen lakes and all the beauty of winter, I wanted to create a strong powerful night look, with a sultry sequin twist.

I wanted my first post to show a bit of where I am from and to show my personality. I am from Minnesota, USA, and its mostly winter all year around here; except for two months in the summer time haha. I love the outdoors, and Minnesota is known by its 10,000 lakes, so even if the lakes are frozen this time of the year I still wanted to wear this coat on this lake (Silver Lake) for my first shoot. Yes, it was very cold out, but I am still young and brave. It was actually a lot of fun shooting outside with my sister Jessica; my photographer.
Also, I am a hard worker with ambitious goals. Being an independent woman and professional requires a strong spine, thus my preference for strong-looking outfits. There is no outfit more interesting and sophisticated than an all-black look.

My Outfit:

I am a big Zara lover, and such a fan of their winter coats. You will see lots of outfits from this Spanish Fashion Powerhouse on my site. Love the European style.
I am wearing a Zara military style black coat. Adore the buttons on this coat; makes it look very elegant. All the amazing details of this coat made me want to not leave the store without it.

The sequin skirt is from A’GACI. It’s a fun twist to this outfit; such a show stopper. For a night out, the skirt compliments the outfit with its gold, white and black sequins. The black turtleneck sweater is from Harvé Bernard, black leggings from target, and black boots from Aerosoles.

I verified the availability for each item online, and I had no luck trying to see if Zara still had my coat in stock on their site. Its the same case with all items. So my apologies in advance. You can try going into the Zara store directly to try your luck. For the skirt you can try Express, they have very similar skirts.
However, I did find very similar great alternatives and added links at the end of the post.

Let me know what you think about my outfit in the comments below. Don’t forget to subscribe so you can get an email notice every time that I add a new post.
